Examples

  • Plan transportation ahead of time.
  • If attending an interview, research the company and have some knowledge about their workplace practices.
  • Plan for and dress appropriately.
  • Arrive on time or shortly beforehand.
  • Offer a firm handshake.
  • Maintain eye contact.
  • Smile and be friendly.
  • Be respectful to all staff.
  • Remember names and use them in conversation.
  • Do not be negative about your previous employment or anything else.
  • Be confident, but not arrogant.
  • Show a genuine interest in what they have to say.
