In-person Interviews – What Not To Do

Examples
- Research the company and the position you are applying for.
- Practice common interview questions.
- Wear professional attire appropriate for the job you are applying for.
- Bring copies of your resume and any relevant documents that may be related to the position.
- Turn off your cellphone or any other electronic items that may interrupt the interview.
- Make eye contact, use interviewer’s name, and smile.
- Watch your nonverbal cues.
- Speak clearly; you may pause if needed to collect your thoughts.
- Elaborate on your thoughts and use examples in your answers.
- Show your curiosity about the company and the position by asking questions.
- Prepare relevant work stories.
